Thanksgiving Menu

“A day of General Thanksgiving to Almighty God for the bountiful harvest with which Canada has been blessed — to be observed on the 2nd Monday in October.”
Canadian Parliament, 31 January 1957

This year, I’m very grateful to be spending Canadian Thanksgiving not only with H., but with my friend Matea, who’s visiting us for the weekend from Croatia. To fit in with travel schedules, we’re having our dinner today, Saturday, rather than the traditional Sunday or Monday. Here is our menu:

Thanksgiving 2011

Starter: Goat cheese biscuits with olive tapenade

Main: Turkey with stuffing and gravy, roast potatoes, roast carrots

Dessert: Apple and walnut crumble

Guten Appetit and Happy Thanksgiving one and all!
