Favourites – November 2011

November hasn’t been the easiest month all around, but here are a few highlights anyway:

Top Chef is back. Although I have some reservations about the host, it’s a great for showcasing serious talent and it’s also very inspiring!

This is entertaining.

–Christmas markets. Christmas is something Germany does really well.

Take this ‘Kitchen Personality’ quiz. (My result was Entertainer).

–Finally saw this film. I read the book and loved it. I’d rate the film a 7/10 — didn’t like Anne Hathaway in that role.

Food for thought — article (from 1964) about a possible ‘new’ Germany.

This made me smile, and also made me very nostalgic. I spent three great years there.

–A great blog for inspiration in the kitchen.

If we listened to our intellect we’d never have a love affair. We’d never have a friendship. We’d never go in business because we’d be cynical: “It’s gonna go wrong” or “she’s going to hurt me” or “I’ve had a couple of bad love affairs, so therefore …”  Well, that’s nonsense. You’re going to miss life. You’ve got to jump off the cliff all the time and build your wings on the way down.
