I’ve had this recipe bookmarked ever since it was posted on Joy the Baker in March. It seemed the perfect way to begin a summer’s day (or in my case now, a chilly, baaarely spring morning!). After my experience with the avocado smoothie, I was a bit nervous. However I’m pleased to report that this one was delicious, and definitely soemthing I will be making reguarly from now on.
I love spinach and eat spinach salads 2-3 times a week at work, so for me the idea of this smoothie is not to incorporate more spinach into my diet, it’s to start the day healthier and with fewer carbs. This smoothie plus a bowl of All-Bran is my new breakfast.
The ingredients are:
- A big handful of spinach, stems removed
- One cup of almond milk – I used about 1 1/4 cup of regular milk
- 1 tbsp honey – I used about a tsp
- 1 banana
- (optional) green grass powder – I used protein powder
The only thing I will change is that I will either freeze the banana or add ice, as it wasn’t cold enough. Other than that, this gets a 10/10 from me!
