Seattle, WA

It’s been almost 3 weeks since I wrote my hiatus post, and what a 3 weeks it has been! H. and I, along with 17 members of my family, recently got back from an incredible trip to the northwest of the US, specifically Seattle and Alaska — the latter coming in a separate post. It was H.’s first time in the US, mine since 2006(!), and both of our first visits to the US west coast.

From the moment we landed we loved Seattle. The city really impressed us with its unpretentious vibe — it felt so accessible and laid back. While we were not there long enough to get to know the city well, we still got a great ‘taster’ and loved what we saw!

A few food recommendations:
Athenian Inn (Pike Place Market) – Had breakfast here our first groggy jetlagged morning (it opens at 6:30am, thankfully). It was bright and sunny and the view of Puget Sound made it even better.
Anthony’s – Delicious seafood (see below) and another great view.
Mee Sum Pastry (PPM) – Amazing pot stick skewers and probably the best eggroll I’ve ever had!

Amazing (and cheap!) flower arrangements, also at the market.
